ANALISIS SISTEM DISTRIBUSI PUPUK BERSUBSIDI DI SUMATERA BARAT (Studi Kasus : PT Pupuk Sriwijaya Cabang Sumbar)

Abstract


As the fertilizer scarcity is getting worst in West Sumatra in last few years, some critical question emerging from these phenomena, i.e.; how is the subsidized fertilizer distribution system?, what are the problem encounter in distributing subsidized fertilizer?  This study tries to answer those question by focusing on the management of PT PUSRI branch office as well as its 5 marketing areas; Padang Pariaman, Tanah Datar, Solok, Agam, and Pasaman.  The result shows that none of these five areas marketing unit could sell fertilizer at its ceiling price which was Rp 1.200/kg as of May 17, 2006. This was mainly because of  high distribution cost shouldered  by each marketing agent. Among the five marketing area unit, Pasaman is the most efficient one with a margin ratio of 2.32.
